Summer of 2011 gone by!! And what a great summer it has been. Here are a TON of pictures, in no particular order, with a few things we did this summer .....

The first several pictures are actually from the very end of summer at a family BBQ up the canyon by Hope's house in Nephi. We try to get the whole family together at least once a month when we can and have dinner and hang out. Hope had a great idea to head up the canyon to BBQ and roast marshmellows! Always great to be together as a family :) We actually got a group family picture, Valerie is going to send it to me, aren't you Val!!!

Banana/Zucchini bread! MMMMM! Made with whole wheat flour, honey instead of sugar, applesauce instead of oil. Delish!

So I love to cook/bake if you can't tell already! One of my goals this year was to make my own pizza from scratch. Well I finally did it in September and it turned out great! Whole wheat pizza dough with veggies from the garden! Can't wait to try making it again! Made my own sauce from garden tomatoes and all. Yumm!

Grace started Kindergarten!!! Eeeek!!! Such a smart and beautiful little girl. I pack her breakfast and send her to the cafeteria every morning before school. Its been good for her, she's made some new friends outside of her classroom this way! And Mom gets to work on time :)

Sooooo Grace taught herself how to tie a shoe! She came out of her room and said look, I can tie my shoe!!! Smart little stink!

We took a day and drove up to Preston, ID to see Kyle's Dad Randy, and Grandma June. We made them lunch and visited for a few hours. Grandma tried her 1st avocado at age 93! And, she didn't really like it! LOL! It actually took me trying them several times before I liked them. Now they are a staple at my house! Anyway, I really love the drive up there through Sardine Canyon and Logan! So pretty!

Kyle and I went to Atlanta, GA so that I could attend a conference for work. They had vendors that sponsered different events, such as this, and it was a lot of fun! Here is Kyle, seeing how fast he could pitch a ball @ the Braves Stadium :)

I have been trying to do things a little more healthy at our house, so this is ice cream night: coconut milk, frozen bananas & strawberries in the blender! YUMM!!

We took a drive up the Mirror Lake Hwy one day, it was so pretty! There was still tons and tons of snow when you got up twords the actual lake, it was crazy!

This was on a camping trip we took with Kyle's family to Strawberry Reservoir. The bugs were TERRIBLE at the campground, but they weren't kicking around the lake thank goodness! Didn't catch any fish, but they tried! Love this picture!

Kohen & Jackie, the kids 2nd Mommy! Jackie is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! We love her so much, she has taken care of our kids since Grace was about 6 months old. This was at a end of summer party that she threw with a few other daycares. They did lunch and had a huge blow up bounce house and slide/pool, and face painting. So much fun!!

I decided to try and grow my own greens, since I have been doing green smoothies so much. And actually all credit goes to Kyle! He grew me chard, kale, beet greens, arugula, lettuce and tons of other stuff! I will have to post some pictures of what we have grown this year!

This was the beginning of spring, kinda cold that day, but that didn't stop us from hitting up a fishing hole!

I decided to stop ordering from Bountiful Baskets for part of the summer and try out all of the different Farmers Markets. We were starting to get veggies from our own garden, so it just made sense. This is what I got at the South Jordan Farmers Market. Aloe Vera plant, cherries, green beans, peaches and plums! Loved supporting the local farmers and seeing what they had to offer. We have also been to the one at Wheeler Farm, Sugarhouse and down town. I still need to check out the Murray Park one!

This was our Strawberry camping trip, the kids were catching tons of craw-dads, or whatever you call them! Ewwww! They did cook them that evening. I could NOT try them after watching them crawl around all day. Blehh!

YUMMY healthy shake! I don't normally use cows milk, but its all I had. I usually use almond milk or coconut milk. Anyway, add maca powder, cacao powder, peanut butter, banana and ice and you've got a delish shake! :)

My new car!!!!! It was finally time to part with my Pathfinder AKA Poofinder (Poof for short)! I bought the Poof when I was 18, so I drove it for 13 long years! Long time right?! Hopefully my new Ford Fusion lasts just as long! It ranked #1 in its class for the year I bought (2010) so I was thrilled to purchase it. Soooo nice to drive something that isn't on its last leg! Great family car.

Green smoothies! I LOVE THEM! I have been reading every book I can get my hands on about greens, health and raw foods, etc. Also attending classes. Trying to get rid of the candy/junk food in my families life and say hello to fruits, veggies, greens, nuts, seeds, legumes, grains a little bit more! Currently reading 12 Steps to Whole Foods by Robyn Openshaw. LOVE HER! Please visit her web site if you are interested because its great! She has videos, a blog, and a ton of great information: http://www.greensmoothiegirl.com/ Oh and I did upgrade to a BlendTech Total Blender and I love it!!! I use my blender every single day, so it was very much worth the investment. I make Kyle and I a green smoothie every morning to take to work. The kids enjoy them too! Fruits, greens and veggies, gotta love them!

This was a camping trip we took up to Idaho at Birchcreek with a friend from work. Soooo much fun! And it was so nice that the creek was shallow and calm so you could cool off and fish if you wanted to!

A Few Things That Make Me Smile ....

Kohen. I was in the kitchen doing dishes while Kohen had a little snack and watched some TV. I soon realized that he had been pretty quiet (not normal!) while I was finishing up. I found one tired little boy, asleep in his chair! By the way, Kohen has decided he is totally done with the high chair, which is fine by me :) We have him a booster on a chair, so now we can all sit at the table as a family. But anyway, love love love this little boy! He is talking SO good and has even started doing a little bit of pottie training! And let me tell you what a wonderful big sister Kohen has. Last night was a busy one, as we finished up dinner I asked if Grace would give Kohen a bath. Grace is only 5, but let me tell you, she washed him from head to toe and brought him to me (carrying him) in his towel! So I took it one step further and said ok, now go put his diaper and jammies on. What a BIG helper she is! She did an incredible job :) Kohen just adores and looks up to his big sister, they are becoming the best of friends and I love it! OK so here's another thing that just puts a big smile on my face lately. Fruit and veggies! Seriously! Mostly fruit shown, veggies were in the fridge, but I absolutely love to look at my table in the kitchen, full of beatifully colored stuff to eat! Yumm!

It was cowboy day once again this year at pre-school! I sure think Grace makes a pretty darn cute cowgirl, don't you?! I love her boots, sure wish I had a pair! Cute little brother Kohen wanted to be in the picture too, with his camo slippers on :) Love these two!

Zucchini Cakes!

So I had a few zucchini's that we needed to eat. Since we grow zucchini in our garden in the summer, we've cooked it up several different ways. Well I googled about it, because I wanted to try something new. This recipe is what I stumbled upon when looking, zucchini cakes! They turned out pretty darn tasty if you ask me, although the kids would say otherwise, lol! The recipe was something like this: grated zucchini, bread crumbs, flour, salt, onion, egg, cheese. The recipe suggested that you dip them in sour cream or marinara when eating. We used chalula. I am thinking there are several things I could have added to this recipe, I will for sure be trying them again some time when we have oodles in the summer! Our side dish consisted of brown rice, black beans, onion, garlic, cumin and mexican stewed tomatoes. Yumm!

Things We Did This Weekend ......

Made Pickled Eggs! Kinda nasty looking though right?! I am not a pickle fan, so I thought there was no way that I would like them. Kyle made his Grandmas' recipe about a year ago, and I've been hooked since! We don't make them all the time, but they are fun to have for a snack once in awhile!

Went grocery shopping! This picture is a great example of why I coupon, FREE noodles!! For whatever reason, noodles always seem to be free with a coupon. Guess its a way for the store to lure you in, but I'm down with that! Makes for a nice food storage item! And noodles aren't the only thing you always get for free with coupons. If you have ever wondered if clipping coupons is worth it, I say yes!

Got our 2nd Bountiful Basket, and loving it! Cantelope, bananas, mangos, tomatos, apples, clementines, broccoli, cauliflower, chard, celery, asparagus, cilantro.

Made salsa!! I normally do not make fresh salsa during the winter, because I make it all summer long with stuff from our garden. But, since I got cilantro and tomatos (above) I decided to bust out the chopper! Mmm mmm, love me some chips and salsa! Makes me excited for our garden that Kyle has actally already been working hard at this year! He has planted whatever can go in the ground outside, and the rest are growing in pots inside the house! Can't wait for some sunshine and fresh garden veggies!

Made huts! OK so I bought this pop-up tent on clearence at Target awhile back. I tucked it away thinking I would give it to Kohen on his next birthday. I went downstairs the other day where it was tucked away (going for something else) and noticed it. I had completely forgot about it! I knew there was no way I was going to remember that I had it tucked away in a few months, sooooo what better to do over the weekend than make the kids a fun hut in Kohen's room!?! They had a blast :)

The rest of our weekend consisted of a little cleaning, laundry, making green smoothies:), going for walks, pre-school and church for Grace, reading books, watching movies, and running errands. I also went to lunch with my Mama while Kyle and the kids went to Grandma 'Nae's. I love the weekends because its all about family time, and my family I love!

My friend Wendy borrowed me a book called The Green Smoothies Diet, by Robyn Openshaw. Wendy went to a seminar by Robyn, and bought the book. I read through it in less than a week! It was a really easy book to read, and I totally love the green smoothie idea! Great way to sneak veggies into my kids diet, as well as Kyle and I. We seem to be really good at eating our fruit, and always have a veggie with dinner, but it doesn't seem like we get enough. We actually do pretty good in the summer when our garden is producing, but I think we suffer in the winter! This was the perfect way to do it! There are tons of recipes in the book, but the basic green smoothie ingredients are: water/ice, spinach, frozen mixed berries and a banana! We have thrown some pineapple in as well which was great! Really, you can throw whatever fruit or greens you want into your smoothie. Spinach is a great place to start for greens. Eventually I will try throwing in some kale, chard, beet greens, broccoli, etc. Plus there are lots of other things you can throw in that are super healthy. I have been throwing in lemon peel which is supposed to help prevent skin cancer, and I have been using flax oil too. So anyway, these are a really fun and easy way to get some good fruits and veggies into your day! I love it, and my family does too!

So I keep hearing things and seeing pictures of food co-op's lately, I just had to try it! This was my very first order, and I was so impressed! I went through Bountiful Baskets, and got everything you see below for $16.50! Asparagus, green leaf lettuce, green beans, green califlower, bananas, cantelope, pineapple, apples, roma tomatos, strawberries and blackberries! I am also going to try another co-op called The Community Food Co-op. It is only $10, but my guess is you don't get as much, and they only do an order once a month. Bountiful Baskets lets you order weekly! Until our garden is in full swing, I am thinking I will be participating weekly! Some don't like that you don't know what you will get in your basket (cuz you have no idea until you get there), but I think its fun. It will get me to possibly try new things or get something I might not normally pick up at the store! Plus, I am sure I will get plenty of good produce for my smoothies!

So these March pictures are from my cell phone, I turned off our Comcast cable/phone/internet a few weeks ago so its harder to get photos from my camera on my blog! We have pinched pennies in our budget every way we could think of, and this was our next step! Honestly, spring is just around the corner and we do not spend time watching TV in the warm months. We are outside playing! I don't watch much TV anyway, so it didn't hurt my feelings! And I'm sure we'll get one of those converter boxes eventually. As for our home phone, we never used it, ever! It was just cheaper to bundle in a package with Comcast. And I will miss the internet at home, but our cell phones have internet, so I think we'll live! And its not a pemanent thing, or maybe it will be? But I'm happy as a clam to place the money we spent paying Comcast every month to something better in our budget. We are still working on our Dave Ramsey baby steps and it has been a life changing experience! Can't wait until we reach the goal line, cuz so far we are kickin @ss!

Grace attended The Little Gym for a few months doing gymnastics and she LOVED it! Her favorite thing to do is the high beam, and she is pretty dang good! We now have her going to Bailies for gymnastics, and she has a ton of fun. Soon we will need to get Kohen doing something fun :)

Seriously can't believe she turned 5!!!!! Grace pretty much had an entire week of party'n! Sunday we went to Grandma Sherrie's and had a nice dinner and banana cream pie! They of course celebrated at her pre-school and sang Happy Birthday to her. She celebrated at her sitter Jackie's the day of her birthday with all the kids AND got to have a sleepover a few days later with her bestie at Jackie's, Lexie. I seriously have the best sitter, she is so much fun and they adore her. So the night of her actual birthday, we took Grace to that new Incredible Pizza place in Draper. It was a blast! We played and played and played for about 3 hours, then went home and had cake of course. Somehow didn't get a picture of that?! oops! But here is a pic of Grace and her Dad on the racetrack!

Opening presents from her family! Thanks everyone!! Grandma and Grandpa Casper spoiling little Grace with the cutest outfit! Perfect to wear on Valentines Day, don't you think? That reminds me, Grace seriously has the biggest crush on one of the boys in her pre-school class! She bats her eyes and kicks her leg around when she talks about him, like seriously!! She tells us how handsome he is and how she loves him!! So not ready for boys!!! Ahhhhh!! But don't worry, Grace knows that she can't have a boyfriend until college :) and do you think she really know what college means? heehee

VEGAS

I took a short trip to Vegas with a good concert buddie of mine, Bonnie! I found out that Garth Brooks was doing a few shows in Vegas, and I just had to go! I have never seen him in concert, and it was a total bucket list concert of mine! Sonia drove down from St. George and picked us up at the airport. She stayed one night with us and we had great food, good laughs and fun shopping! Helen lives in Las Vegas. Bonnie, Sonia and Helen all made friends via going to concerts. They are a lot of fun! So anyway, Helen was turning 70 years old, so we picked her up and took her to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Isn't she adorable?! So only Bonnie and I went to Garth Brooks. He was AMAZING! We had 6th row seats and it was one of the best concerts I have been to. All in all it was a fantastic girls get-a-way weekend. Can't wait to do it again!

Really late Christmas Post!!!!!

I have all these ideas of thing I want to blog about, yet I never make the time to do it! Ahhhh!!! So I just realized that I had uploaded my Christmas photos, but never put together my post. Well here it finally is :) I hope to update my blog more regularly this year!! We'll see about that!

Anyway, to start it all off is a few photos of my families tradition. Gingerbread day!!! We start out bright and early since it takes all day! This year I brought breakfast in the crock pot and then we ordered pizza for lunch like always. Its such a fun day to hang out with each other and smell the delicious gingerbreads all day long. We also have have our family party on a later date with a big 'ol breakfast and present exchange. We draw names, which we have done for years, and it's always a good time!

Grace and Kohen got to see Santa at Uncle Russ and Aunt Paula's house! They threw our Casper family party at their home and it was a lot of fun. We played games and sang songs and had lots of yummy food. Always good to see everyone.

This is Grandma 'Nae. Kyle's family has a white elephant game tradition that everyone looks forward to each year! We play at Grandma's of course, and it's either done on Thanksgiving or Christmas, depending on when all the family can be in town. Kyles extended family is a very close family and they are always fun to be around.

Christmas morning!! Kohen jumped on his rocking horse and rode it alllll day long!!

WOOOOODY!!! Kohen got Buzz as well of course. We finally got around to seeing Toy Story III on Christmas Eve. So cute!!

This was my #1 favorite gift that Grace got for Christmas!! Leap Frog - Tag Reading System is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! We play with it every night before bed. Love it!

This was the only thing Grace asked for this year, a lady bug pillow pet!! She sleeps with it every night. The kids also got a bunch of needed art supplies and a few board games to play!

Santa never forgets to bring the doggies something fun!!

By the way, do you notice how bare my tree is?? My little Kohen just LOVES to play with the Christmas tree! Can't blame him :) I love my family to peices and I very much enjoyed a wonderful Holiday season with them once again!

Now let's hope its not Christmas again before I post again :)

My Tasty Weekend

Happy Halloweeeeen!!! This is such a fun time of year, I love it! I love to decorate for Halloween almost more than I do for Christmas! Fall brings such beautiful colors and wonderful weather! I love to break out the crock pot for dinners, throw on my hoodie, and I especially love to bake! I'm no Betty Crocker, but maybe one day! Anyhow, Kyle took off for the deer hunt this weekend, something he looks forward to every year. I decided to kick it at home with the kids and play in the kitchen all weekend!

And here is my beautiful little Grace! She let me flat iron her hair before pre-school on Friday. So darn cute! She is just loving her 2nd year of pre-school, they do so many fun things! Today they hit up the pumpkin patch and got to bring home a little pumpkin.

Here are my lazy lazy poochie pies! Perfect weekend for snuggling up on the couch and napping all day with the rain.

Aren't they beautiful? I picked these Johnny's up from Farnsworth Farms. I have been doing a little canning this year and wanted to try making a little applesauce. My Mom canned when we were growing up and its something that I decided to try out this year. I really enjoy it! So far I have done salsa, peaches & pears. Next year I will have to try some other stuff as well!

I also picked up these Granny Smiths to make caramel apples. Results below :)

Here is a batch of tasty pumpkin muffins! I wanted to add chocolate chips, but the recipe did not call for them and I think I am going to do pumpkin chocolate chip cookies anyway, so I left them out. The recipe suggested a cream cheese frosting that you can add on top and that might be just what I'll have to do with them! One of the blogs that I follow posted a holiday challenge to bake and freeze 3 different breakfast type items. She is giving away a bunch of prizes and such, but I thought it sounded like fun and was a great idea! So many things freeze so well, and why not take a weekend and load of the freezer with goodies! So pumpkin muffins = item #1.

Item #2 = Banana bread! The recipe I had was not my favorite, so I got on allrecipes.com to find a new one. They smelt fantastic, but I actually did not try them, so who knows! I wrapped them up and threw them in the freezer for later when Kyle is home to help devour them! I love to add a little butter and strawberry jam to my banana bread, so yummy!

Little miss Chloe taking her turn to curl up on the couch! Seriously, how would it be!! Oh and did I mention, the dogs have their own couch?

MEAT! So this is something I have never done, but decided that I would give it a try! While things were baking in the oven, I neglected the dishes and made an even bigger mess! I cooked up 4 lbs of ground beef, and 2 lbs of sausage. I am going to freeze them of course, and this should make thing easier for making dinners! I can just pull out a beef and sausage and whip up some fast spaghetti or lasagna, maybe some enchaladas or chili with the beef? Or one of my favorite of all times, use the sausage for home-made pizza!!! mmmmm!! Well ok, I actually don't make my own crust, but I decided that its time to learn! I just need to get me a stone to cook on :)

MORE MEAT! I also decided to throw about 4 lbs of chicken breasts in the crock pot! At the end of the day I just shred it up and then once it was cool, put them in ziplocks and threw them in the freezer. Yay, you have no idea how excited I am to have this all done! Chicken broccoli casserole anyone?

Banana chocolate chip cookies! One of my favorites that my Mom made growing up! This is not my #3 breakfast item, I just had bananas that needed used up in the freezer. These cookies freeze very well, so after eating some for and appetizer BEFORE dinner, off to the freezer they went! And with all this cooking you'd think I made dinner. Ummmm NOPE, ordered chinese take-out with my neighbor Ashley :)

Curious George here, wanting to know what Mom was cooking now and could he have a bite please! If I didn't give him one, the little stinker helped himself to whatever I had thrown in the garbage!! Naughty naughty puppy!

And more chicken in the crock, day 2!! These are chicken thighs though. I got them for super cheap with a coupon and I have no idea what to do with thighs? Kyle loves the darker meat, so he was in heaven when I brought them home. I had about 3 lbs, so I just threw it on in and shredded it when done!

When the apples were soft, I just mashed them up and added a dash of sugar! Can you believe it all fits in this jar!? Now that I know how easy it was, I might have to go back for more apples!

I made these for the kids and I for dinner Sunday night. I tripled the recipe so I could freeze a bunch for the 3rd item of my Holiday Challenge :) I got a tip to stack them in an empty bagel bag with wax paper inbetween each pancake. Hopefully they taste just as good when you heat them back up!

OK so this was my attempt to make caramel apples! Never would have thought that this would be the hardest thing I did all weekend! I followed the directions on the bag of caramels and it so did not go as planned! The caramel ended up boiling right on out of its bowl in the microwave, so I lost about 1/2 of it! The first two apples turned out ok, but I was not fast enough or something, because it went hard quick! And I was not very good at making them pretty with my crushed oreos and sprinkles. Heheee, guess I'll try again next year and probably use the stove to melt the caramel instead!

My neighbor Ashley and I took our girls to Salsaleedos for dinner Saturday night since both our hubbies were off deer hunting. The food was excellent (I got the chili verde and chili colorado enchiladas, mmmmm) and we even got to hang out with Frankenstein! We also ran into my sister Valerie and her kids while we were there. That was pretty crazy! Her hubbie was off hunting too :) Fall is finally in full swing and I am loving it!

Anybody want to come and clean the dishes I didn't get to Sunday night!?!? SO sick of washing dishes!! But, it was well worth the mess. My freezer is nice and full. I still want to make some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! MMMmmmmm

Summa Time

Summer has been a blast! I can't believe it is about to come to an end already! Fall is my favorite time though, so I start to get excited once the season changes! I have not been that great at taking pictures this summer, but here is a bit of what we have been up to. To start, a picture of my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children who I have had so much fun playing with in the sunshine! We love to hang outside as a family, just doing whatever!

As you may know, I am a concert junkie! I went with a group of girls to see Luke Bryan at the Westerner and it was a great concert! We got to meet him and take a photo ... but man, what is up with my 8 chins!! yuck!!

Bonnie and I at the concert ... she goes to them all! And she is the one that always hooks us up with back stage and great seats! We always have a blast! By the way .... I am blonde now! I decided that while it was short, what the hell! I was going to try blonde for once in my life! I actually really like it, but I'm sure I'll go back one day. I'm always changing my hair, thank goodness for a fabulous sister that does hair! Love ya Valerie :)

OK this next photo is one of my best shopping trips to Smiths since I started this whole coupon thang! As you can see, I got oodles of stuff! Cereal, baby wipes, pop corn, yogurts, noodles, ketchup, paper towels, crackers, canned fruit, brownies, hand soap, pizza rolls, cookie mix, croutons, gum, whipping cream, bar soap, clorox bleach, fruit snacks, salt, soda ... I think I named it all! I have really learned how to save $money$ with my coupons, and I don't think I can ever shop again w/o them!!

This is my reciept from the shopping trip above! It is actually wrong because I got $5 cash back (I was charged wrong on my canned fruit). So for everything above, total was $156.84. I paid a total of $32.55 and saved $124.29!! How sweet is that!! I don't do this great on every shopping trip, only when Smiths has their big sale where they round up your coupons. BUT, I do save at least 50% on my groceries, EVERY TIME I go!! It's an awesome way to save money!! But I won't lie, it does take time to clip those coupons and a little longer to shop! It's worth it to me!

Kyle and I on our annual camping trip to Bear Lake over the 24th of July! We look forward to this every year! Its so fun to just play and relax on the beach, we love it! This time I finally got me a raspberry shake and it was yummy!! We went with Tracy & Nick, Sheena & Travis and their famililes. Thanks guys, it was a blast!

Kohen had fun playing with the mudd and any stick and rock he could find :) I tried to take him out in his tube, but he just wanted out so he could run on the beach and Mom could chase him! Cute little stink!!

And here is my beautiful little Grace!

We always stop to see Kyle's Grandma Biggs in Preston, Idaho ... and we have started to go up and visit Kyle's Dad up at his property as well each year. Its not too far from the lake so its nice to go up and visit with him. One of these years we need to take our trailer up and camp with his Dad!

This is something that Kyle has wanted to do for the kids and check - it - out!!! How cool is that! Kyle just busted out the hammer and nails and put this together one weekend! The kids love to play in it! All he needs to finish really is the shingles on the roof. There's carpet and all inside! I think he did a fantastic job, love you babe!

And last ... our garden!! This is only part of it :) Kyle has done an amazing job with it this year and we have been enjoying fresh veggies with our dinners! There is nothing better than fresh salsa or a garden salad, right from your own dirt!! Yumm!!! I am supposed to attempt canning salsa this year since we have ten thousand tomato plants!! Eeek!!! We will see how that goes :)

OK I have been slacking on the blog, so this post is going to be huge!! Here is what spring time has brought us so far ... and the 1st few pictures are of little miss Grace who just finished her 1st year of pre-school! She has had so much fun and learned a ton!! I enjoy picking her up from school and hearing all about her day! The 1st picture is actually from when we were camping and Grace wrote her name in the dirt with a stick! I just had to take a picture, so cute!!

We BBQ'd hot dogs, had lots of good food, swam and enjoyed the beautiful day! Happy Birthday to my baby boy :) I decided to make cup cakes since I bought a nice cake on his actual birthday. I love to bake, so it was fun for me :)

Mmm mmm mmmm ... strawberry jam!! I never knew just how easy it was to make! I made 4 good size jars from 3 small boxes of strawberries. I actually bought 5 things of strawberries and 5 things of cool whip. Why you ask? Well here we go ... I have become a coupon FREAK! It is so much fun, you have no idea!! I went to a coupon conference and have now become addicted to coupons and killer deals!! I bought my strawberries on sale 3/$5, and then they had a peelie coupon on the strawberries to get $1 off when you bought cool whip too. WELL, cool whip was on sale for 99 cents, so it was like it was FREE. AND you got back a $3 catalina coupon for your next shopping trip. SO 5 strawberries/5 cool whips for $5.35 (or $0.53 each)! ummm WOW :) But anyway, we are still plugging along with our Dave Ramsey plan and I wanted to find another way to save money. Coupons was the answer! It is amazing what you can save when you buy stuff when its on sale and then add a coupon! Plus I get 3 Sunday papers each week (yes 3!) and so when something is a killer deal, I stock up and get 3 of them! For instance, I just got a $2 off Pampers wipes coupon (3 of them). Well the price at Target was $1.97 for wipes, sooo what did I get ... 3 things of Pampers wipes FREE!!! Great way to stock up your shelves with food for emergencies! There are so many bloggers out there that do the homework for you and you can seriously save so much money on your groceries! I now save 50% or more on my groceries every time I shop, and I get tons and tons of stuff for FREE! Love it!!

Lazy bones Rocky!! The dogs own my couch ... I seriously can't wait to get some new ones that are for humans only!!! :)

Kyle's favorite weekly chore, mowing the lawn!! This is our back yard, another things the dogs rule! But we do have a good garden growing up along the fence now, all thanks to Kyle! And our front yard looks amazing. Kyle loves to be outside and digging dirt ... I like to sit and watch :)

One thing we really enjoy in the spring and summer time is our fire pit! So nice to kick back in a chair and watch a beautiful fire! Love it! We BBQ a few nights per week when its warm outside, so we use our patio quite a bit.

My 2 beautiful girls, Grace and her BFF Chloe. Kyle recently started letting Chloe sleep at the foot of Gracies bed. They both are happy sleepers because of it!

Kohen LOVES to be outside! He loves to explore and find rocks and sticks ... and of course eat a little dirt!

AND ... Look who is walking!!!! My baby boy is growing up so fast!! He zips up and down the stairs and gets in to absolutely everything! Such a naughty little stinker, I just love him!! He is so much fun! Welll until next time, ta ta!!!

My Mothers Day

I had the nicest Mothers Day with my cute little family! We started the day by going to breakfast with Kyle's Mom & family. Speaking of Kyle's Mom, her and Dennis just bought the cutest mobile home (brand new) and had it placed on a lot in a retirement community. It is so dang nice! It's perfect for them and something they have always wanted, so we are way happy for them. So after breakfast we went home and packed a lunch and headed over to see my Mom for awhile. Next we went to the Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park! It was such a nice and sunny day, we had fun looking at all the birdees and even sat and watched a little bird show! Kyle got to have a bird fly over to his arm, the kids thought it was pretty neat! Then as you see, we got our picture taken with one. So after that we went home and grabbed our dog Chloe and headed to the park by our house for awhile. Then we went home and played outside and Kyle BBQ'd a nice dinner while I kicked my feet up and watched the kids swing! I truly love being a Mother, I have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful kids that I absolutely love and adore!!

PS - Kohen is walking!!! As of 5/13/2010, he finally dared to take some steps on his own! He is doing awesome, I will have to post a little video soon!

EASTER

We had Kyle's family over for a little BBQ the week before Easter. We dyed eggs and had an egg hunt in the front yard for the kids! It was a lot of fun! Jayda, Grace, Kohen & Kaden =)

One of our traditions is to make Easter the 1st camping trip of the year out at the sand dunes! We went to Cherry Creek again this year, which is far away from the big crowd .... just how we like it! We always go with my sister Hope's cute family and we had a bunch of friends join in this year. There was like 6 inches of snow at our house when we left, but it only snowed our last morning at the dunes and it really wasn't that bad! It was for sure cold at times, but we still played and had a lot of fun! Here's a picture of little Kohen and his kool ride!

Nick and Tracy brought up Brookie's little bike, so Kyle took Grace for a spin ... she LOVED it!!

Poor Kyle doesn't have any fun toys anymore, so he had to settle for Gracie's jeep! HA HA

Oh and don't mind the fact that my pup Rocky decided to attack a big black cow while out camping!! I was taking a nap (1st nap in months!) with Kohen during the event, but Kyle said the cow kicked our dogs butt! Kyle was actually really worried that Rocky was way hurt after getting stomped and head butted into the ground ..... but luckily he was just fine!? Never a dull moment with THREE dogs!!

Kohen is just growing like a weed! Almost 10 months old now and full of life! He is all over the place and full of trouble! He sure loves his sister and its so fun to see them play together now that he is a little older! He is starting the climb up the stairs and loves to pull himself up to stand, but no walking yet ... I think I can wait a few months for that to happen! My baby boy is growing up fast! XOXOXO

OK so this is actually February, but here is a picture of my Dad celebrating his Birthday! All the grandkids love their Grandpa I tell you what! Happy Birthday Dad, we love you!

We packed the kids up and took them to the Gateway to watch the St. Patricks Day Parade! It was a tad cold and raining, but we toughed it out and enjoyed all the fun! There was a lot of neat things to see, we had a good time! It's always nice to get out of the house and do something as a family :)

And yes, we are already excited about our garden! We try to start seeds in the house early on, and this year I decided to try some stuff in pots as well. Kyle is the gardner, but I decided to try and enjoy his hobby this year too! I got some books from the library so that hopefully I know a little bit what I am doing! If all goes well we will have tomatos, jalepenos, banana peppers, bell peppers, lettuce, carrots, corn, radishes, watermelon, cucumbers, cantelope, green beans, peas and zuccini! Spring is finally here, YAY!!!

A girls night out to see the talented Jason Aldean! We started the night at the Sky Box for some dinn dinn, and then headed over to the ESA! This is Hope's favorite country artist, so there was no way we could miss out! It was a lot of fun ladies ... can't wait till the next one!!!

Grace turns 4 !!

My sweet and beautiful little girl just turned 4 years old! We had the grandparents over for Pier 49 pizza (mmmm) and of course cake and ice cream. She got a lot of great presents and cards from family and friends! I love to plan parties and make a big deal out of birthdays, can ya tell?!

We got a room at the Draper Library and had Jeremy from Scales and Tails come and do a reptile show for a birthday party! It was very entertaining and educational!! They had snakes, lizards, turtles and even a taranchula!! Grace was very brave to hold these creatures!! It was a lot of fun for the kids and the adults! Jeremy did an awesome job! We all loved it!

End of 2009 ... Beginning of 2010

So January 2010 has just flown by! I don't mind because I already have a little bit of Spring fever :) Life is busy as always ... and one thing I have found to make things a little easier lately is to use my crock pot! I have fell in love with it over the last month and have been trying all kinds of things. I have always used it to cook my roasts, but now I am learning some fun (yes cooking is fun to me!) and easy things to throw together so that dinner is ready when I get home from work! Today I threw some chili verde in the crock pot ... never made it, so I am hoping it turns out good! I think I'll sweet talk Kyle into making some home-made tortillas and we'll have one of my favorite dishes ever tonight .. chili verde! YUMM!

OK now to talk about my most recent purchase that I just had to have! Kyle and I have actually done really good on our whole Dave Ramsey kick, so this was definetely splurging! I know ya'll have seen the infomerical on this Xpress Redi Set Go cooker, right? LOL! I have watched it a few times and Kyle finally said "Just buy it!!" ... ha ha ... so here it is! I actually just got it last night and although ordering it was a complete nightmare (won't go there), I really do like it! We made dinner & dessert in it last night, and I made Grace some little egg bites and me an omlet this morning. Turned out fantastic! Kyle missed out, he is off hunting/shooting with his friend Nick this morning. But it is so easy to use and so far so good =)

I think I have another picture of Kohen on the blog in this bouncer ... but I tell you what, this is like his favorite thing to do! Jump and jump and jump! He is now 8 months old and crawling everywhere! He is doing the mama, dada, baba ... and loves to read books, play with his sister Grace, be outside (when its not too cold), splash in the tub, eat and eat some more, and giggle with his Mom & Dad! He will be walking before we know it!

And here is Grace! She is turing 4 next month!!! She has been loving pre-school, spending a lot of time with her Daddy this winter, and her daily routines with going to Grandmas, Jackies, school, reading books and playing princess everything! Recently she has been going to church with Grandpa and she is loving that too.

Here is Kyle's sister Kim and his Mom Sherrie. Sherrie decided to finally marry Dennis after something like a 12 year relationship! They just went to the court house on January 14th and hope to have a little honeymoon in Florida some time soon. We decided to take her out to dinner at The Bayou and have a little fun for a girls night before she said I DO!! Below is me, Jeanette & Lisa (Sherrie's sisters). We had a fun night out!

I got together with a bunch of my friends for dinner when Kaycie came in town from Texas! We have all been friends since middle school or before! It was sooooooooo much fun to get together and talk about our wild days!! We told stories and laughed until we cried! I had such a great time and will for sure be planning another reunion next year! Love these girls! And if any of them knew I posted the 2nd picture below, they might kill me!! ha ha ha!! We were only missing AmyJo at dinner ... and we had a newbie with us too .. Amanda =)

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! Having kids makes it just that much funner to do everything, they definetely help Kyle and I get in the spirit! Every age with Grace has been so much fun, and this was Kohen's 1st Christmas!! I love my kids so much, and I have enjoyed this Holiday with my family more than ever!

Grace made some reindeer food at Jackies (sitter) to put outside in the snow so that Santa and his reindeer could find us easy!! Do you love how Grace dresses herself?? I do :)

Brother & Sister ... Merry Christmas!!!!

Do you love Kyle's hair? Even better, do you love the fact he is holding Chloe in his lap?? The dog he swears he doesn't like ... and now I finally have proof that he does!! I have been trying to tell everbody for months that he really does love her, even though he talks trash =)

Kohen in his Christmas jammies! Too cute! He needed jammies so bad, he is growing so fast! The last few days he has been getting up on his knees a little and dragging himself across the room. He will be up and crawling any day! He has sure learned how to get around! He also cut 2 teeth on the bottom this last week. We love him so much, he is such a joy to our family!

Kohen LOVES the tree! I let him sit and mess with it for awhile ... what the heck, Grace already re-arranged it 50 times! We used to have a really big green tree that took like 6 days to put together (ha ha) ... so the last few years I have been loving our pre-lit tree that comes in only 3 peices and takes 10 minutes to fluff! Our theme is mostly snowmen with a few other things too!

Kohen loves to eat the wrapping paper .. yumm!! This is Christmas Eve, the kids get to open jammies and a movie. We got "Up" this year and it was actually pretty darn cute!

We had Kyle's little family over for a yummy ham and funeral potato dinner ... and of course presents! Grandma spoiled all the kids with a DS!! We just found out that Sherrie (Kyle's Mom) and Dennis (her boyfriend) have decided to finally get married in Florida this January!

Grace has been loving puzzles and games, we have been having a lot of fun with them lately!

My family Christmas party was held at my pad this year. We had breakfast and exchanged presents. We draw names every year and it's always fun! This is the beautiful xmas sweater that Erik got me (ha ha ... it's so ugly!!!). Val gave it to him last year, it was hilarious ... now what to do with it next year .. hmmmmm watch out ya'll !!

Look Who's Sitting Up!!

Kohen is almost 6 months already!! He just learned to sit up, and he is doing really good with it! That's all he wants to do now. We have been so blessed with a healthy and handsome baby boy. He is such a good and happy baby, always full of smiles (although this is the only look I got out of him for a picture the other day, lol)! We LOVE you Kohen, we are so happy that you came to be part of our little family.

Valerie and I took our girls to Disney on Ice!! We all loved it!! We had great 2nd row seats, but my camera isn't very great so I didn't get too many good pictures! Yeah for Mickey & Minnie Mouse! It was such a great show!

So I pulled out the 'ol witch costume this year! Our neighbors had a little party for the kids. We did a few games and had pizza with carmel apples. Yumm Yumm! This is a picture of me and the kids with the dude that sits on our front porch!! Kyle makes him every year. Grace did not dare sit on his lap!!! Halloween is our favorite time of year, I think we have more decorations for this holiday than Christmas!!

One of my dearest friends got hitched in Vegas on Halloween! We threw them a last minute party in their honor since they were not having a reception or anything. They have been together for almost 15 years! Congrats to Todd & Lashanda!

New Doggie!!

Please welcome the newest addition to our family ... Rocky!! Well Kyle says he is going to come up with a new name, but we will see. We now have more dogs than children ... yes!! But we didn't exactly go looking for another dog, it just happened. A friend couldn't keep him and so we decided to take him home. He is the same breed (Rhodesian Ridgeback) as one of our other dogs, Hatchet. They are beautiful animals and have the sweetest personality. Rocky is about 7 months old and already 70 lbs! He will get about 100 lbs total. Hatchet is around 150 lbs, but he is just big for that breed .. not fat! With a little adjusting to the new member of our family, everything is going great! He acts like we've had him since day one and we are enjoying it!

It's been a GREAT summer, but now it's definetely Fall outside. Fall is my favorite time of year!! Thought I better update the end of Summer pictures. Here's little Kohen, now 4 months old! He is already 15lbs and rolling over! Such a sweet little boy and good baby. We have had so much fun with this little guy and just love every minute!

My sister Hope ran a marathon relay with her friends! I think it's awesome, so I wanted to show her off! Love you Hope =)

Grace went to the Circus with her Aunt Hopee, Tatum, Addi and JoEllen!! She showed me how the elephants danced when she got home =) Thanks for taking her, she had a lot of fun!!

We bought Grace a bike off KSL (love you KSL) ... princess style OF COURSE !!! She loves it! Hopefully by next year we will have the training wheels off!

We tried out the brand new fishing hole in Sandy. Grace loves to play with all the worms. ewww!! We took Kohen, but it was a really windy day, so we didn't stay too long.

And then there's our crazy girl Chloe. She had herself a near death experience the other day. She is our little escape artist and didn't quite make it to the roof (that's how she gets out) and fell and got stuck between the house and her dog house. In summary, she was not breathing or moving or anything when we found her. When Kyle pulled her out she hit the ground and bounced back to life! It was amazing!!! She's doing just fine and hopefully learned her lesson!

Not a very good picture, but here is Kyle and Grace at the Aquarium! One of Grace's #1 places to go, we have season passes. She loves to pet the sting rays and check everything out! They finally opened a new area with a lot of new stuff which is nice. Really neat place!

Banana chocolate chip cookies RULE !!! What I really need a picture of is all the cucumbers, tomatos, zuccini, jalepenos and other garden veggies Kyle grew this year!! They were soo yummy and we enjoyed making salsa, salads, breads, etc. all summer long. We LOVE our garden and hope to get better at it every year. Next year I WILL learn to bottle!!

This was up by Strawberry, we went camping with the Hyatts and friends. Hope is entertaining the kiddies with tattoo's!! We had a lot of fun!

Our Lovesac Story

So I sold our Lovesac this morning! Yes somebody really wanted this bright pink and fluffy sac! I wanted to tell my story about it. I won this off the radio probably 6 years ago (when I used to win everything off the radio!). We went to pick it up and it didn't come with a cover. If any of you are familiar with these things, you want one due to the fact that the under layer is cream and will get dirty fast and can't be washed. So anyway, it was around Valentines Day and they had this super cute hot pink cover on display that I just had to have! Wouldn't match ANYTHING, but I didn't care! So it was way expensive as they all were, but they were having a deal that day to go along with the Valentines spirit. If you sat on their Lovesac and kissed for 14 minutes, you could have 50% off the price. WOW that was a deal. So Kyle and I sat and held a kiss for what seemed like FOREVER ... ha ha ... and got 1/2 off! They didn't even make us do the entire 14 minutes. We had my neice Breanne with us that day and the poor girl was a little embarrassed I think! So we have enjoyed our Lovesac, but we don't really use it much, its huge and just takes up lots of space. BUT I don't think I ever would have thought to sell it w/o the fabulous book I read below .....

This book has seriously changed our lives forever! I can't even tell you how much we needed something like this. Thanks Krisitine for borrowing the book to us! We actually saw his seminar when he came to SLC a few months ago as well. He is AWESOME! Kyle has been listening to him on the radio for years and I finally decided to see what he was all about. The book was a true eye opener, a slap in the face! We have changed our ways and its amazing what we have accomplished in just the last six months. His plan is not a get rich quick anything, it takes time and lots of discipline. Its a simple process to get out of debt and stay that way. A complete lifestyle change. I mean who really wants to be in debt and always owe on cars, credit cards, etc?? NOT ME! If I told you everything, I would be typing forever and ever. Those who have already gotten an earful from Kyle and I know what I mean. We really wanted this change and that is why it is working for us. I encourage everyone to read this book. As Dave Ramsey says ... "If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else". Its so true!

Utah Lake

We went out the weekend after Bear Lake to Utah Lake with Nick and Tracy. It was a perfect day for boating! While in Bear Lake Kyle wanted Grace to ride on the tube with him. Thankfully for my nerves, Grace didn't want to. I wasn't even having my 3 year old out in that water! Then I saw the cute 2 year old girls get on and take a ride. They had a blast! So when we got to Utah Lake, Kyle asked Grace again and she wanted to go this time (and Mom let her). She LOVED it! Good thing she has such a fun Dad because Mom is a chicken, cluck cluck!

CHEESE!! We are here! This is the campground when it was pretty much empty. Oh boy did it get busy!! We had a great spot at the place we go every year with good friends!

I sure love to be this cute little girls Mommy! Grace and Kyle started my day off with some pancakes. Grace added some yellow food coloring just for me =) And then we headed down to the Jordan Parkway to have a little picnic and feed the ducks! I forgot my camera, or I'd have pictures of that instead. Later we headed to my sister Valeries for a family BBQ with some yummy eats! It was a fabulous day! Oh and Kyle made my truck sparkle, thanks babe!

Camping Over Easter Weekend

Grace & Addi on the eggie hunt! They had so much fun running around our camp looking for eggs :) and had a blast together all weekend long with each other! I'm so glad she has girl cousins her age to play with!

Its starting to become tradition to camp over Easter weekend with Hope & Scott and their friends Wade & Mary. Its the perfect time to camp. Not too hot, not too cold and NO bugs!! We LOVE to take our trailer out camping all year long, its something we can enjoy together as a family. The dogs too! They were in heaven!

MY Prince

I just have to share a Grace moment. She has totally been into the princess thing for more than a year now. Loves to dress up and watch all the Disney movies. Not to mention, any girl we see in a skirt or dress she says, "oh look, there's a princess"!! So anyway, she now realizes that the princess marries the prince. She always talks about it and how they have true loves kiss and live happily ever after. So now, she wants to marry her prince ... her Dad!! We sat down and showed her our wedding pictures and told her how we are married and had a true loves kiss :) and she is just so amazed! I told her how she would find her prince one day and marry him. Well that really upset her. She wants to marry her Dad! He is her prince! She doesn't want to find her own prince, because she already has one. She said that I needed to find my own and that Dad was hers!! She is such a daddys girl, I love it. Kyle is such a great Dad and they are the best of friends. We came to the conclusion that we could share him, and she is happy with that :)

Gracie's Birthday Party

We decided to have Gracie's Birthday party with all of her cousins at The Aquarium right by our house! She absolutely loves to go there! Her sitter Jackie has been so good to take her many times, and I finally decided to get a membership. Unfortunetely I missed the party :( due to pinching a nerve in my lower back the day before. I cried my eyes out for missing the party, but I couldn't even get out of bed. I was down for 10 days! SUCKED ... but anyway, back to the party!! She got tons and tons of fun presents! My sister said that the money presents were funny ... she shouted MONEY and threw it in the air!! Thanks to everybody for coming and helping out! Kyle did a great job pulling the party off w/o me. Love you babe!

We took Grace to the Discovery Gateway (childrens museum) on her birthday in February. It was so much fun, she would have stayed all night if we let her! There was sooo much to do and see. Great place to take your kids! We will definetely go again one day.

We played in the mini mart and Grace checked out her groceries!

We probably played at this water exhibit the longest. Grace loves to play with water, no matter where it is! It was a lot of fun!

We hit up Crown Burger for dinner on our way home. Then I had a coupon for Maggie Moo's by our house, so I thought we would try it out. Oh yummmm was that a good idea! We snuck the candle in after she'd already dug in, but she loved it :)

Our Valentines Day

Yes I am super late at adding this post, but I haven't had a home computer because ours died and we finally got a new one! So needless to say, I got behind on a few things that I just had to share :) For Valentines day this year we had a nice steak and baked potato dinner by candle light. Grace thought the candles were so much fun and couldn't wait to blow them out!! Then the best part .... we made chocolate fondue! mmmm it was delicous! We dipped strawberries, bananas, pretzals, cinnamon bears, blackberries, coconut marshmellows and pineapple in yummy chocolate!! I do have to say that I don't quite understand melting chocolate though. We bought fondue melting chocolate and once I got it melted I turned the heat down because it was super hot. All was good until I decided to turn the heat up a little again and stir it because it had thickened up a little. The chocolate turned to like a thick weird dry nasty fudge. Yuck, what happened ??? Anybody ?

Spring FeVeR !!

So Jill's cute post about her garden inspired me to write all about my spring fever! I still don't have a home computer so I can finally post Gracie's bday pics, but it's on order! So I have already broke out the flip flops a few times when its warm and I seriously don't even want to put my socks back on! I can't wait to get this baby boy out of my growing belly and take off work for the summer so Grace and I can fill the kiddie pool in the back yard and dip our feet and eat popsicles! We actually have a community swimming pool kiddie corner to our house, but I like to chill in the comfort of our own back yard with the doggies and hang out. We BBQ all summer long (almost every night) and so we spend almost all of our time outside. I love to make a fresh batch of salsa using veggies right from our garden! YUM! The garden is Kyle's baby, but I do help water and pick (sometimes)! I'm pretty bad when it comes to helping with the yard. I mostly sit in the shade and watch :) But I really think Kyle enjoys (for the most part) taking care of his yard with his garden and all of his plants. You would think that I had the bug in me because my Dad spends all summer long in his yard too. He keeps his yard looking great and has tons and tons of plants and trees. I love their yard! He brings Kyle and I plants once in awhile to help fill all our empty dirt in the front!! Thanks Dad!! So we've already hit up Lowe's (had a coupon) and bought all of our garden seeds for the year. Sure wish we had more room for garden, but we (Kyle) makes do with what space we do have. This year we will have tomatos, cucumbers, zuccini, corn, jalepenos, onions, few different peppers, watermelon and pumpkins! We have never tried to do watermelon or pumpkins so we will see about those this year! We actually bought pumpkin seeds last year and never planted them. My aunt Judene (Auntie!!) used to do a pumpkin patch and she would let all of the kids come and pick a pumpkin and paint them! I keep hoping to take over her tradition for my neices and nephews! Cute little Gracie found my pumpkin seeds from last year about a month ago in a drawer and decided to plant them in one of our house plants! Few weeks later we had one pumpkin plant about six inches tall that had flowered and everything! Made me laugh!! So anyway, we also bought some more strawberry plants (only had a few last year) and then we are going to try raspberries and grapes this year! We'll see how that goes, hopefully good! Kyle did plant a baby apple tree last year and it actually grew one lonely apple (we didn't even expect it to produce until possibly this year) and that cute little Gracie of ours picked the apple before it was ready!! Kyle tried to eat it anyway, ha ha, he said it was totally sour! Not to mention our lovely dog Chloe chewed every branch off the apple tree last year that she could reach. Poor tree, I hope it comes back this year! I'd love to learn how to make a fresh apple pie, or apple sauce! Ooo not to mention, apple cobbler. mmmm! So one thing we do need to figure out better is how to keep the lovely Chloe out of the garden this year. Kyle did put up some wire fencing last year, but she hopped right over! She likes to dig holes next to the plants in the shade to lay in the cool dirt. Naughty doggie! So I definetely have spring fever and can't wait for the sun to come out and shine!! We also like to do a lot of camping in our trailer when its warm and I can't wait for that. Hopefully with the new baby I will still be up for doing it this year! I think I will.

One of my all time favorites ...... PIZZA!!! Pepperoni & sausage. mmmm! And sometimes we like to add jalepeno's! Just my style! If we don't order from Papa Johns or The Pie, these Boboli crusts are delicious :)

And here is my cute little helper! She puts the cheese and all the toppings on, and in the oven it goes! She loves to help Mom in the kitchen, wether we are cooking, sweeping or washing dishes. So at what age does that all turn around???

Yellow Cornmeal Buttermilk Pancakes

I made these cornmeal pancakes for my family this morning! I got the recipe from my Mom and they are the BEST pancakes ever! She used to make them for us growing up and mmmmm they are delicous!! I'd take these over regular pancakes any day of the week!

1 C - buttermilk (or water plus powdered buttermilk)
1 - egg
3 T - melted butter
*Stir the above 3 ingredients together, set aside.

1/2 C - flour
1/4 C - cornmeal
1/2 t - salt
1 t - baking soda
*Stir the above 4 ingredients together. Then blend everything together until just moistened, leaving lumps! Makes about 12 small pancakes.

These are very very delicate and small pancakes. You will want to pour them onto the greased griddle very slooow. They cook quick and like I said, are very delicate! I was much better at making them my 2nd time around! They are so good with syrup or strawberry jam! Grace will eat 2, while Kyle and I eat around 4. Then with my little family, that leaves 1 for Hatchet and Chloe .... if they are lucky!!!!

1st Haircut!

This was her favorite gift by far. A Sleeping Beauty dolly! She loves to brush her hair and push the button that makes her sing. We definetely know the song by heart now!

Mickey & Minnie Mouse! I told Kyle that we are going to Disneyland in 2-3 years, she will love it and I have never been myself!

Daddy Biggs making us a nice warm fire for our house that doesn't get over 63 degrees! Umm ya, whole other story!

Santa brought an easel with lots of markers, stickers, finger paints, paper and more! She loves it!

Tinkerbell has to be one of her favorite characters, so this has been her new favorite shirt!

Grace got princess everything! Blanket, jammies, t-shirts, tin purse, movies and more! Oh and then lip gloss and sparkly nail polish for the princess!

CHRISTMAS EVE

For some reason I was up before 7am today, so I came downstairs and made Kyle's coffee and one of my favorites, biscuits and gravy. mmmmmm! Then I woke Grace and we shared a hot chocolate and woke up Daddy because there was a present under the tree! We ate breakfast and then Grace got to open her Sleeping Beauty jammies and movie! Kyle says I am impatient .... not me! Now its off to visit our Grandmas and enjoy our day!

OWWWWYY!! Gracie took a fall and her tooth went all the way through her skin, right below her bottom lip! Poor thing had to get one stitch on the inside, and one on the outside. I felt so bad for her, it about breaks your heart to see your kids hurt!
